| FTR TO DISPLAY MOTO2 MACHINE AT VALENCIA MOTOGP FINALE |
![]() FTR MOTO will have its second and latest prototype Moto2 machine on display at this weekend’s Valencia MotoGP round as interest in the M209 from the 2010 Moto2 World Championship teams continues to grow. FTR is close to confirming its first customer team for the new 600cc four-stroke World Championship and is likely to test at Valencia next week with prospective GP teams and riders. “We didn’t expect such a quick response from Grand Prix teams so we’ve got to work and produced two more machines for the final testing and racing activities in Spain,” said FTR director Steve Bones. After the tests in Valencia next week the FTR machines will be shipped to Jerez for the penultimate round of the Spanish Championship, again running with the Joe Darcey Team, the newly-crowned European Supersport Champions. Bones continued: “The interest in Spain has been incredible and we’re now in talks to have a former Grand Prix winner racing alongside Graeme Gowland in the final two Spanish rounds at Jerez and Valencia. As further technical information and detail is offered to the teams by the World and Spanish Championship organisers so the interest in our machine increases.” Since the debut of the FTR Moto machine less than a month ago - at the Montmelo circuit near Barcelona - the company has tested at the Albacete circuit with Gowland and remains on target to have its 2010 model fully developed and ready to challenge for immediate World Championship success. “We’re very happy with the progress so far in the development of the machine,” said Bones. “After the Valencia test next week we’re looking to step up progress further in the final two Spanish Championship races and with two riders.” |
